About KES 10,000 a month

An add-on to the cloud, for your whole business

  • "Do this next": what to order, what to have in for a busy day, credit to chase
  • Your week at a glance: what to prepare each day
  • Stock to move between branches, in a sentence
  • Money leaks by cashier, as warnings to look into
  • Menu engineering and credit ageing

The setup is per branch: a branch is two computers. The monthly fees are per business: a second branch adds its setup, not a second cloud fee. Each extra till or kitchen-screen computer is from about KES 10,000, quoted for your setup, as is any hardware you need, or bring your own. Installation can vary with the site, and we confirm the price before we start. Prices are in Kenyan shillings.

What the KES 30,000 branch setup buys

Not a download and a password. We come to you and get you selling, in this order. You pay it once.

  1. We install it at your place

The branch server, the till and the printers, set up on site.

  2. Your items and stock, loaded for you

Send us your menu or product list in Excel or on paper. We do the typing.

  3. Printers and kitchen screens

Receipts at the counter, tickets in the kitchen and at dispatch.

  4. Staff roles and PINs

Cashiers, supervisors, managers and the rest, each seeing only what they should.

  5. Training

For your cashiers and managers, on your own menu.

  6. Your brand

Your logo and colours on the till and the receipt, per branch.

  7. The first day close, together

We stay for it, so the first one is right.

The cloud is about KES 100 a day.

Less than one short drawer. If one cashier is KES 200 short a day, that is KES 6,000 a month: twice what the cloud costs. ZapTill shows you that shortage at every day close, by name, and the cloud puts it on your phone.

It is month to month, or pay for 3, 6 or 12 months at once. We recommend 6 or 12: one payment, and nothing to remember every month. Paying ahead is simpler, not cheaper: there is no discount.

What could leaks be costing you?

Put in your own numbers. It is a rough estimate, and it stays on your screen.

All tills together, cash and M-Pesa.

Money that should be in the drawer and isn't.

Food or stock thrown away, given away or not accounted for.

KES 3,000

That is about 8 times what the ZapTill cloud costs in a month.

An estimate based only on your own numbers, over 30 days. Nothing you type here is saved or sent. It is not a promise of savings: ZapTill shows you the leak; stopping it is up to you and your team.

Analytics pays for itself, or you'll see that it doesn't.

Every card says what to do, why, and what it rests on. Where there is an honest shilling figure, it shows it; a stock card says how many to have in, and a warning says what to look into. You decide whether to act.

Example from a demo restaurant

Order about 70 more Tusker lager before Friday

You have 30 Tusker lager; a normal Friday sells about 49, and from today to the end of Friday about 91.

Order: ≈ 70 more to have 100 by Friday

Estimate: ≈ KES 18,255 of sales at risk if it runs out

Your stock level as the cloud has it now, against the average of each weekday in this period, plus 10%. KES = the units you would be short × what it sells for on average (sales at risk, not profit).

Good evidenceSee why · What sells when

Analytics is planned at about KES 10,000 a month. A busy day without running out of your best seller, one old debt collected, or a leak caught early can each cover that. Every card says what it assumes, so you can judge it yourself.

Pricing questions

Do I pay for the tills every month?

No. Setting up a branch is paid once, and the tills are yours: once paid, it's a done deal. The monthly fee is for the cloud: your dashboard on the web and on your phone, the daily email, and the online features. It is one fee for your whole business, however many branches you have.

Is there a free trial?

Yes, for the cloud. When your first branch is set up, the cloud is free for the first month, so you can see your numbers on your phone and get the daily email before you pay a shilling for it.

Can I pay for the cloud for a year?

Yes. Pay month to month, or for 3, 6 or 12 months at once. We recommend 6 or 12 months: one payment, and nothing to remember every month. Paying ahead is simpler, not cheaper: there is no discount.

What is a branch, and can I have more tills?

A branch is a two-computer setup: the branch server and a till. A busy place can add more tills or a kitchen screen; each extra computer is from about KES 10,000, quoted for your setup. The branch setup is KES 30,000; installation can vary with the site, and we confirm the price before we start.

Do I need internet?

Not to sell. Your tills keep selling and printing receipts with no internet, and a branch server keeps every till in the shop in step. When the internet comes back, everything catches up by itself.

You need internet to see your numbers from somewhere else, and for the daily summary to reach you.

What about power cuts?

The till is a Windows PC, so it needs power like any computer. That is why a UPS is on our recommended hardware list: it keeps the computers and the receipt printer going through a short cut, so the cashier keeps selling. Ask us what size to get when we visit.

What hardware do I need, and can I use my own?

For each branch:

  • Two Windows computers: the branch server and the till (a POS terminal works as the till)
  • A receipt printer
  • A UPS, recommended, so a short power cut doesn't stop the counter

If you want them: a cash drawer, a kitchen printer or a kitchen screen, a barcode scanner, and a label printer (or use A4 sticker sheets on an office printer). If you already have hardware, we'll check it and use what fits. Anything new is quoted for your setup; an extra computer is from about KES 10,000.

What support do I get?

Call or WhatsApp us on 0717 675 635. Support is from 8 am to 7 pm; priority clients get support 24 hours a day. Many problems are fixed without anyone driving to your shop: support can pull a till's log remotely to see what went wrong, and updates install themselves.

What happens if I stop paying for the cloud?

Your tills keep selling. They were paid for once, so they stay yours. What stops is the cloud: the web dashboard, your phone access, the daily email and syncing, until you pay again. Your sales wait safely on the till and arrive in the cloud when you renew. Adding a till, or registering one again, needs an active cloud plan.

We remind you by email before your plan ends, so it never lapses by surprise.

What about eTIMS?

ZapTill clients handle eTIMS with their own provider today; ask us how others do it.

How long does setup take?

It depends on the size of your menu or product list and how many tills you have. We load your items and stock, set up the printers and screens, and train your staff on site. We'll give you a date at the first visit.

Can I add a branch later?

Yes. A new branch is set up the same way, paid once, and shows up on the same web dashboard as the others, so you see every branch side by side. You pay its setup once; your monthly cloud fee stays the same, because it covers the whole business, not each branch.

Is there a contract?

The tills are a one-off purchase. The cloud is month to month. We'll go through the terms with you before you pay anything. There is no percentage of your sales, ever.
